If you enter Shenzhen from Luohu port, you can apply for a visa on arrival at the port for a stay of no more than five days. And you need to bring your passport and fill in the application form directly at the port. When you return to Hong Kong and fly from Hong Kong to US with a stopover in Beijing, you can apply for a 144-hour transit visa exemption at Beijing airport. Hope it helps!

It would be easier if you go to Shenzhen and just fly from Shenzhen to Beijing.

1. You do not have to spend time go back HK just to fly.

2. Whilst there are more international flights from HK, there are a lot more domestic flight from Shenzhen. So if you need to go to Beijing, you have more options and the flights are a lot cheaper as well.In fact people do that all the time.
