Do we qualify for the 144 hour visa free transit?

My family will be taking a cruise from Singapore to Vietnam then to Hong Kong. We disembark at Shanghai and will fly to Beijing for 2 days then on to Tokyo. Do we qualify for the 144 hour visa free transit? We are United States Citizens.

I'm afraid you are not eligible for this since you stop in both Beijing and Shanghai. Thus you need to apply for the visa in advance in your country.
