About:How to Travel to China without a Visa
UK Citizen: For the 144 hour, could I do UK->Shanghai (144 Hours)->Hong Kong-> Philippines. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. I have a connecting flight in Beijing as I am flying Air China (Not actually leaving the airport). This is fine right ?

Sorry but the flight from Shanghai must be non-stop. Second connection outside Shanghai transit region requires a visa if the total time in China is over 24 hours

Yes as long as UK -> Shanghai is direct and does not connect in Hong Kong.
