About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Vienna - Amsterdam - Shanghai - Paris - Vienna

Dear all,
my flight route is like above, with essentially only changing planes in Amsterdam and Vienna (so transfer only there) - I assume this still is ok for a 144 visa free stay in Shanghai since the final flight to Shanghai is from Amsterdam and the flight leaving from Shanghai is to Paris - can you please confirm if I am right?

I just had a call with China East Airlines and they said that I will need a Visa since all countries in EU are regarded as one country! So Netherlands and France will not be considered as different countries - can this be right? Thank you very much in advance for a fast reply.

It is always a waste of time calling any airline about visa matters. They are wrong. Netherlands and France are definitely considered different countries.
