About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Guangzhou 13 h layover

Hi
I have stopover in Guangzhou for 13 h . Coming from Singapore via Singapore airlines at 13:30 and leaving next day to Doha via Qatar airlines at 1:30 Am. Is there any problem to get 24 h transit visa and visit a city for few hours?

HI Zupan. Do you know Guangzhou airport well? Where exactly I should go to receive permit to leave airport? Secondly is there any place to for laguage storage? I will be traveling on two different PNR numbers.

Actually, you don't need any kind of visa because you are perfectly covered by 24 hours visa free transit. To exit the airport you will have to apply for 24 hours free entry permit and you should know that the issuing of that permit is always at discretion of immigration official. In order to empower your application it is strongly advisable to have a hotel booking, at least a cheap one. I understand that you don't need an accommodation, so you can just try to obtain the entry permit by applying without it and if lucky, you will be allowed to exit the airport.

You are definitely covered by 24 hours visa free, so you should not apply for any kind of visa. In order to be allowed to exit the airport, you will have to apply, upon your arrival in Guangzhou for 24 hours free entry permit. It is, as always, recommendable to make a booking of a hotel, never mind how cheap it may be and this will empower your application for entry permit. Anyway, the final decision whether you will be allowed to exit the airport is at discretion of immigration official.

You will approach the counter that is close to immigration. Please, just do not hesitate to ask for 24 or 144 hours visa free transit counters and you will be shown exact direction and location. As far as the left luggage facilities are concerned:

Left Luggage:
T1:

1): Departure Hall, Gate 1; 09:00 - 17:00

2): Departure Hall, Gate 8; 06:00 – 23:30

3): Departure Hall, Gate 16; All day

4): Arrival Hall, Gate A5; 06:00 – 22:00

5): Arrival Hall, Gate A8; 09:00 – 17:00

6): Arrival Hall, Gate B4; 08:00 – 22:00

T2:

1): 3F, close to C Area; 05:30 – 23:30

2): 3F, Close to P Area; All day

3): 1F, Arrival Hall, next to Gate 53; 05:30 – 23:30

Service Fee per piece:

0-2 hours: CNY 5-40;

2-4 hours: CNY 10-45;

4-8 hours: CNY 15-50;

8-24 hours: CNY 20-55

Note: The charge depends on the size of the luggage. If storage time is over 24 hours, price will be accumulated according to the above price list.
