About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I need a 24-hour or a 72-hour transit visa?

Hi!

I am a Philippine passport holder, and I'm coming from Manila, and will arrive Guangzhou on May 8 at 2:25 PM
Depart from Guangzhou at 9:05 PM arrive in Beijing on May 9 at 12:20 AM, then depart from Beijing on May 9 at 9:10 PM. If I will only go out of the airport premises during my layover in Beijing (20hrs 50 min). Am I still covered by the 24-hour transit visa? Or do I need a 72-hour visa?

If I need a 72-hour transit visa, can I apply for it at the airport?

Thank you!

Just a follow up question - will my layover in Guangzhou be included on the count of 24-hours even if I don't go out of the airport premises?

Your 24 hours starts at the scheduled arrival time in Guangzhou. You will clear immigration in Guangzhou even if you don't leave the airport. You must get a visa or change your flights.

Philippines passport cannot do 72/144 hour transit. You need a visa since you are over 24 hours.
