Upon your arrival in Shanghai you will have to apply for 24 hours free entry permit and you have to know that such a convenience is always upon discretion of immigration official. In order to empower your application, you are encouraged to book a hotel and to have this confirmation with you along with a print out of your flight ticket. After you have done that, you can expect to be allowed to exit the airport. By the way, take care not to exceed your stay in China for more than 24 hours. I'm telling you this because there are no direct flights between Berlin and Shanghai, so you will maybe have an additional landing somewhere else, maybe in Beijing.
