About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Jakarta to Vancouver flight with Transit in Beijing less than 24 hours

I am Indonesian citizen (an indonesian passport holder), i will have a holiday trip to Canada dan US, my flight is with Air China from Jakarta to Vancouver, it will have a long transit in Beijing (arriving at 8.00 in the morning and departing again at 24.00 midnite), we would like to see greatwall and do short tour of beijing city in between that transit window. Are we qualified for visa exemption ? can we option temporary entry to beijing on arrival in Beijing International Airport?

You are perfectly covered by 24 hours visa free transit, for sure. Also, you are eligible to apply for 24 hours free entry permit to exit the airport and to make a tour to the Great Wall. Anyway, you should have in mind that the issuing of entry permit is upon discretion of immigration official. In reality, the chances to obtain a permit are, at least in your case, quite good because the layover is long and your exit has a purpose.

You are definitely qualified for 24 hours visa free transit. Upon your arrival in Beijing you will apply for 24 hours free entry permit that will allow you to exit the airport and make a trip to the Great Wall. Please, have in mind that the issuing of entry permit is upon discretion of immigration official, but I am more than certain that you will be granted one.
