About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hi, I am going to travel to South Korea - Beijing - USA.

I do not expect to stay for more than 24 hours in mainland China. Where can I apply for the 24-free visa? Do I need it?

I was planning on buying separate flights (Seul-Beijing then Beijing-LAX) with a few hours of difference between them. I do not want to leave the airport though.

Well, everything depends whether you will be flying on through ticket or separate ones, whether you will have to collect your luggage and make new check-in or similar... It's hard to predict whether you will need to apply for 24 hours visa free transit or not or better to say for visa free entry permit because 24 hours visa free transit is already granted. Anyway, this is rather straightforward procedure and there are no issues regarding it. Maybe, in case that your layover is during the night hours, you will want to sleep in the hotel, so you will apply for entry permit... There are several different circumstances where you will maybe have to apply for the permit or maybe you will just want to do it because of your plans during the transit process.
