About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hong Kong considered 3 country

US citizen visiting in Seoul S Korea. If I fly from Incheon airport to Beijing then fly out of Beijing to Hong Kong. Is that acceptable third country? I’m hoping for the 72 hour transit. I will probably have separate tickets. Is that acceptable?

Hong Kong is considered as third country in Chinese visa free scheme. Itinerary that you have posted here is definitely eligible and you can stay in Beijing for 144 hours visa free transit. Separate tickets are fine and normally acceptable.
