About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

How about transiting in China between two airport??

Hi there,

I'm Malaysian and plan for a trip to USA. My flight will be from Malaysia > Guang Zhou > Beijing > Los Angeles.
From Guang Zhou to Los Angeles is under one ticket through Air China and the transit time between Guang Zhou and Beijing is 2 hours plus. For my case, do I need a visa for the transiting??

And another question will be, do I need to exit the immigration once landed at Guang Zhou then proceed for another check in to board the next leg flight? Or can straight proceed to the another leg after retrieving the luggage?

Thank you for your explanation, mine did fall within the period of 24 hours. I did ask the Chinese Visa Application Service Centre about this. They’ve mentioned the same thing within 24 hours period no visa required, but it still fall under airline policy. In which I’ve wrote to AirChina and they said that they have no power to advice on this issue. So to be safe I’m going to apply for G type visa.

You should count the time from your scheduled arrival in Guangzhou until your scheduled departure from Beijing. If that period is less than 24 hours you can travel through China covered by 24 hours visa free transit.

As far as your second question is concerned, it all depends on your type of ticket and airlines in the process because Guangzhou airport has two large terminals. You should be prepared for any type of tranfers and options, but I assume that you will probably have to go through immigration process. Never mind, don't take my opinion for granted and ensure that between the flights in Guangzhou you have enough time to perform all the neceassary operations and formalities for the continuation of your journey.

OK, it will be your decision, but just inform yourself upon arrival in Guangzhou whether did you have the right to enjoy 24 hours visa free transit. At least, you will be able to spread accurate information after that :).
