What do I need to travel from Hong Kong to Haikou? We are flying to Hong Kong from UK.

How do we get registered for visa-free entry?

Sarah, you intend to use the 24-hour visa-free transit in Haikou? If so, keep in mind that your stay should not be longer than 24 hours and you will head for a third country after the stay. You just need to handle this at the immigration counter upon your arrival and show your passport and flight tickets to the office.
