About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144 hour

I am flying into Shanghai from London via Paris.
Staying in a Hotel in Shanghai for 2 nights, then leaving on a cruise, from the cruise terminal, finishing in Australia. I am not going to any other part of mainland China,
Would I qualify for the 144 hour, visa free transit ?
Thank you
V

Definitely. Your itinerary is perfectly within the legal frames for 144 hours visa free travel. Anyway, take a look at your cruise itinerary because after Shanghai you should not enter any other mainland Chinese port. I understand that you have written that you will not be going to any other part of mainland China, but people sometimes forget that the ports on their cruise itinerary count in the same way as if they were flying to some other mainland Chinese city. By the way, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau are fine because the rules treat them as a third country.

Thanks Zupan
All will be fine. The only other Chinese related place the ship visits is Hong Kong.
Thank you for your advice.
