About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144 hour transit visa question..

So I called the chinese embassy in Washington DC to acquire more information. The operator was very rude and curt when I asked questions if I qualify or not. She abruptly said that I would need to check with the source if I qualify. Doesn't the Chinese embassy oversee all visa programs into China?

The 144h twov is NOT a visa so the embassy has nothing to do with it.
A transit visa is total different.
A twov is a transit WITHOUT a visa, you just get a temporary permit.
If you have questions, you must ask the chinese immigration, not the embassy.
