About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Hong Kong - Beijing - Hong Kong. I'm staying in Hong Kong for 6 weeks.

Does the visa-free transit apply if I want to travel on a U.S. passport from Hong Kong specifically to Beijing for the 72 hours and then return to Hong Kong?

Hong Kong - Beijing - Hong Kong is not a transit at all, so you need a visa for this trip.
