About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Student visa but temporary residence permit for work ?

I have come to China on a X2. After my studies, I would like to find work in China. What is the process for transitioning to a temporary residence permit for work? Do I have to leave the country and return on a Z?

After you find the job and get the work permit from your employer, you can try to go to the exit and entry administration of the local PSB within China to change the current visa into work Z type. If it can be done, you don't need to leave China.
