Itinerary Detail. do I need a detailed itinerary for 2 months and all the hotel bookings?

Hello my name is John a UK citizen. I am thinking of going to china as a tourist for a couple of months. My question is regarding my itinerary. I will book a hotel for first week and then leave it open and flexible which is my style and how I travel. Can I do this for a China visa....
