1 day trip to Guangzhou from Hong Kong

I'm living in HK with a working visa and my passport is South Korea. Can I do 1 day or overnight trip to Guangzhou with 144 hour transit free? I'm planning to go to Guangzhou by ferry from TST Hong Kong.
