China Airlines transfer Intl to Domestic at Beijing Capital Airport

I have booked a trip from Paris to Guangzhou with a transfer in PEK, with China Airlines.
The transfer time is 1h30min. Reading this article, I see this is clearly not enough and I 'm travelling with 3 young children.
Any idea what would happen if we miss the connection?
Is the airline company forced to propose a seat in a following plane? At what cost?
