Unfortunately, your itinerary is not eligible for 240 hour visa free transit and if you want to retain this itinerary you will have to obtain a Chinese visa in advance. As far as you know the basic rule of 240 hour visa free transit requires that the immediate points before and after mainland China have to be in two different countries or eligible territories (eligible territories are Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau). Your itinerary has both of its immediate points in a single country - Philippines. If you could only introduce a third country or territory, that would make your itinerary an eligible one, for example: Manila - Shanghai - Hong Kong - Manila or Manila - Taipei - Shanghai - Manila. Hopefully you can do something about your itinerary because otherwise a visa obtained in advance would be necessary. Hope this helps.
