About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144-hour Visa free extension to travel to another province

Hello,
I am definitely psyched about making a stop over in China without needing a visa! I am planning to land in Shanghai and will certainly visit Nanjing as well.

My problem is : I have some friends in Henan that I would like to visit but cannot go there as it is out of the visa free area. Do you believe it's possible to go to the public security bureau in Shanghai or Nanjing in order to get a travel authorization to Henan ? If so, how long would it take ?

Unfortunately, there is no Chinese embassy where I am right now... I will see what else I can do

You will need to get a tourist (L) visa before you leave for China.
