About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Beijing, Tianjin & Hebei

What actions do you need to undertake to have a valid exit ticket?

Couple of short questions:
Can you fly in and out Beijing with a different airline and still be OK for the visa free transit of 144 hours?
What exactly do you need to show as an 'exit ticket'? Because usually they only let you check-in a flight 48h in advance, meaning seating is only confirmed then? Or does a confirmed and paid exit ticket within 144h suffice?

Thanks so much!!

Separate tickets are allowed. Just make sure no extra landing in another Chinese city and that the next landing is a different country than the one you entered Beijing from. You don't need a boarding pass you need the confirmation email with the 16 digit ticket number on it.
