About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

chinese visa for underage students

I got admitted to CNU in bejing, I received my admission letter, but not the jw 201 form, which is something I need to get the X1, I was so concerned about it and contacted the university, they told me they need a legal guardian letter notarized by chinese embassy in my country(I don´t know if this document is compulsory for receiving the jw 201), by this time I have already completed it.
I contacted them again and they told me that since vacation time is approaching, I have till july 9th for having the letter sent to beijing which is absolutely impossible, I am afraid I wont be able to enroll in this semester.

They suggested to ask for a tourist L type, and when coming to china, taking the notarized document with me and that I will be able to change my L type to X1 type, IS THIS POSSIBLE?(I asked that to the chinese embassy in my country and they told me NO! and that i will be sent back to my country)

Carlos, based on what I know, it is possible, but usually, the applicant had better apply for an X type in the first place in their home country. You can try to apply for an L type for China. After entering, you can try to convert the L type to X type at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB.
