About:China Transit Visa

Fly to Guangzhou, stay for 2 days, take train to Macau

DO I need to apply for a visa or can I show them a train ticket to show that I am leaving?

You need a visa or a nonstop plane ticket to HK (and take the ferry to Macau at HK airport). TWOV is not applicable to those leaving to HK/Macau by land.
