About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transiting with different air tickets

Hello, I plan to land in Shanghai Pu Dong with Korean Air ticket on Friday morning. I schedule a business meeting in the city for the same day and will depart at 23.10 at Air France flight. Both air tickets were bought separately. Does this qualify me for the 24h or 72h transit free?

If you are in China for less than 24 hours then you only qualify for 24 hours transit without visa (not "transit visa"). Whether you can also leave the airport without a visa is then at the discretion of the immigration officer.
