About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I qualify for a 72-hour visa-free transit?

UK citizen flying direct from Sydney to Hong Kong, where I am staying 8 days (so no visa required there?). Then flying direct to Shanghai - potentially arriving 3.30pm on Wednesday, leaving 7.50pm on Saturday. Departure flight is direct to Sydney. Thanks.

HK - Shanghai - Sydney is fine for the 144h twov.
You don't need a visa for HK if you just stay 8 days there.
