About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

NRT>PVG returning to SFO w/ a 2 hr layover in PVG

Flying ANA which means every flight goes through Japan. We fly out of NRT to PVG, hoping to use 72 hour twov exemption, then fly PVG to SFO with a 2 hour layover in NRT?

Your entry and exit country cannot be the same, regardless if you leave the airport or not. You need visa to fly Japan Airlines to and from China.
