About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

144hrs TWOV

Hi,we have all the right documents to qualify for the TWOV, we are usa passport holders,does it make any difference that our departure origin is Vietnam A -to transit Shanghai B- cruise to Japan C.
Our cruise agent just advised us that as USA citizen,we need to arrive direct from another country OTHER than CHINA and VIETNAM.
Please advise us, arrive direct to Shanghai from SGN (vn) would not qualify for the program.

If you fly from Vietnam and the only Chinese city you land in is Shanghai and boat does not stop in another Chinese city on the way to Japan then you don't need a visa
