Can I use the 144-hour Visa-free Transit in Shanghai two times ?

We will fly to Shanghai from Canada on April 23, departing SH on April 26 to Japan on a cruise. And come back to SH from Japan on the cruise on May 4, then depart SH to Canada on May 6.
