About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

A Canadian and Two American passports

I need some clarification if it can be offered. I am Canadian living in the US with my American husband and daughter, flying from LAX to Ho Chi Minh City via Xiamen and TOA (Quindao) airports. Our layover in Xiamen is 10 hours.

I have three questions; number one, do I need a visa for transit to enter and exit those airports for flight?

Number two: I have read that I need a transit visa that is free but where do I obtain it? It this the 24 hour TWOV?

Number three: if we want to leave the airport in Xiamen then do I need a different kind of entry permit? What is the cost and where would I obtain it?

Please help, I am lost and confused with my flight date rapidly approaching.

Jodie

If your time in China (from scheduled arrival time in Qingdao to scheduled departure time from Xiamen) is less than 24 hours then you don't need a visa. You will be in transit without visa, and you don't need a transit visa. You just need your confirmed onward flight details.
