About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Vietnam - Shenzhen - Hong Kong

Hi,

I am on a cruise, we call at Chan May in Vietnam, then go to Shenzhen for 8 hours, before we go to Hong Kong. There are no other mainland Chinese ports. Can I use the 24 hour free rule?
I understand the 144 hour twov free option is not yet available in this region.

Thanks

Mark

When you read the info above though, it suggests that Hong Kong can be counted as the C(third) country, so not sure why this wouldn't be allowed????

Shenzhen's special rule, apparently. Immigration inspection in Mainland China is a municipal responsibility. Theoretically, you may be able to go on land if your cruise arrives during the visa-on-arrival hours (9a-12p, 2p-5p) and you pay the associated fee but it would be very expensive for an 8-hour trip and there are no data points available currently.
