About:China Visa Fees

Fly to Beijin, than train Beijin to Shangai, than fly from Shangai: 144 hour visa free?

Hello. I will be flying from Bangkok, destination Toronto.
Flight Bangkok-Beijin train Beijin-Shangai flight Shangai-Toronto.
Is it possible with the 144 hours free transit?
Another option would be fly to Hong Kong and take the train from there to Shangai.
