About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

M to Residency

I have an M for 180 days each stay for 10 years.
If I move there, I would get temporary housing for 3-4 months and then move to new apartment - will this move cause issue ?

It won't as long you notify the police within 24 hours of your move. Keep in mind that you must be registered with the police within 24 hours of your first arrival and there will be a fine if you don't do that.

Wrong. Anyone without a Mainland Chinese ID card or a Chinese passport is supposed to either check into a hotel or present themselves for registration within 24 hours of arrival, regardless of what kind of visa or residence permit they hold. There are countless examples when a non-national with a residence permit has failed to register and received a fine or administrative detention, and even more cases when people using TWOV programs found themselves to be blacklisted for a couple of years.

" Keep in mind that you must be registered with the police within 24 hours of your first arrival and there will be a fine if you don't do that."

But this only applies if I am actually moving there and not traveling there for work under 180 days under an "M" visa
