About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transit. I am going on a cruise out of HKG.

My flight is going to be via PEK. I would like to stay a couple of nights in PEK before heading to HKG to catch my cruise. I believe this would qualify for the transit visa? Would there be anything I need to do in advance or do I just visit the transit desk once I arrive PEK?

It depends on your immediate stop before PEK and whether your PEK-HKG flight is nonstop.

It is nonstop. I am flying from Houston Texas nonstop to PEK, spend two nights in PEK and then head straight to HKG, nonstop. Spending two nights in HKG before getting on a cruise. It is all on Air China.
