Can I use the 144 hr free transit visa with 2 separate tickets?
I am travelling from NYC to Beijing (on one RT ticket- Air China) and Beijing to Mongolia (another separate RT ticket - Miat) because it is much cheaper to do so than to book it all together. My plan is NYC-Beijing-Mongolia (all happening in one day), then about 4 weeks stay in Mongolia, then Mongolia back to Beijing (where I want to stay for 4 days) and then flying back to NYC. I am truly transiting Beijing on my way home, but not sure if I can do it without linking all my flights together. It's SO much more expensive to do so, especially since I can get great flights RT to Beijing and use miles. Can you advise if this will work?
