About:Beijing Railway Station

I plan to use 144 hours visa free transit in Beijing

I know that I should have my train tickets from Beijing to Ulaanbaatar in hand when fly from USA to Beijing, but as it is not possible, do you think a copy of the tickets would be accepted at the passport checkpoint?

We are sorry that you cannot use the 144 hours visa free in Beijing for this trip. To use this 144 hours visa free stay, you cannot leave Beijing and Hebei area, however, the trip to Ulaanbaatar will exit China mainland at Erlian, out side Beijing and Hebei. So it does not support this your trips.
