About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Australia-Singapore-Shanghai

Do I need a visa for China? Arriving into Shanghai on a flight on 23rd August and departing Shanghai on a cruise on 26th August. We will not be visiting any Chinese Ports on the cruise.

If the travel route would be Australia-Singapore-Shanghai-another country or region instead of Singapore, you can use the free transit in Shanghai. No visa will be needed.
