About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu

Does this qualify for 144 hr visa

I will be travelling from Thailand (June 4) -> shanghai (arrive june 4) on one ticket, and another ticket for Shanghai (leave june 5) -> Chicago -> Canada?

so the entry into Shanghai is one ticket and departure from Shanghai is another?

Separate tickets are fine if those are your only stops.
