About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Traveling to shanghai from uk going on a cruise.

Hi I'm traveling around shanghai for 3 days then going on a cruise to japan for 7 days then back to shanghai..then travel by train to Beijing for a few days then fly to japan go around for a few days then fly back to UK.. should I be needing a visa or a 144hour free transit be okay??.

You need a visa on the way back for the layover in Shanghai and Beijing.
