About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

Visa Interview. I applied for visa in the center in Rome.

But they gave me an appointment with the Chinse embassy for interview before approving my application ?
Is this normal process?
What is the interview about ?

Usually, the consular officers may inquire your basic personal information and your detailed travel itinerary such as why you go to China, how long you will stay, which city you will go etc.
