Flying from Australia on New Zealand passports

We are currently planning a trip in October that will take us from Australia to Hong Kong for four days then flying on to Shanghai for three days before boarding our cruise ship. During the cruise we stop over in Beijing for three days. What are our visa requirements as we are New Zealand citizens?

You can apply for tourist L type for China, and you need to provide a filled-out application form affixed with a passport-style photo, your passport and its photocopy, round trip air tickets and hotel reservation.
