Shanghai and Hangzhou around New Years with whole family

I booked a flight which will arrive on Feb., 3rd in February and continue to Hangzhou with a train at Feb 5th.
So I'm hoping that the peak travel rush will be before the 3rd and after the 8th (as people might be from 4th already with their families for some days). Is this true? Or will be even on the 4th/5th be a big rush?

Another question: will it be possible to go to the Bund on 4th in the evening? I booked a restaurant there, but I'm not sure if we make it through the crowd - I just saw the pictures from the last years.

Thanks :-)

You are right, there will be less people but you are still suggested to book train tickets in advance. On 4th evening, it will be less crowded comparing with the ordinary days so you don't worry too much.
