About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hi. I am a Canadian citizen.

I am traveling from Vancouver to Kathmandu Nepal. I have 2 stops in China Xiamen and Guangzhou with total.layover time of 9 hours.
Return I fo Kathmandu to Guangzhou with 25 hour stop where I will need a hotel. Do I need a visa? Thank you

You don't need visa. You can use free transit in both ways.
