About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

s visa to x2 visa

I'm in china on a s with my wife holding the z, I"m looking to do an internship and wondering if more then applying at the PSB is necessary to get it switched or if its one of the situations that leaving mainland china to visit a Chinese consulate is needed?

You can try to apply for the change at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB within China. If it can succeed, you don’t need to leave China for that.
