holding a norwegian passport. do i need a visa?

Me and my family will be travelling back to Norway on the 3rd week of July via Beijing. We have 12hrs stop over at PEK Beijing Airport. So we are thinking to visit great wall in this 12 hrs stopover. We are holding a norwegian passport. Do we need entry permit to be able to do this? If yes, how and where do we apply?

When traveling without a visa, whether you can enter the country depends on the immigration officer's decision and many in the recent months have not been positive. If you want to be sure you can leave the airport you need a transit Visa.
