About:Shanghai Travel

toronto to Hong Kong with a layover in Shanghai. flying with China Eastern

when I arrive in Shanghai will I need to claim and re-check my luggage for my flight to HK?
both flights are with China Eastern

No, you don't need to collect and re-check the luggage. But you need to finish Customs Health Quarantine, Immigration Inspection and Security Check.
