About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Transit visa- British citizen passport- Shenzhen airport China

Hi
Please help I’m am totally confused!

I have flights booked with Shenzhen airlines to Phuket in thailand and it goes via Shenzhen. We land at 17:40 and depart at 20:30.
Will we need to apply for a visa in advance? Or can we just get a transit g? Or don’t we need anything as won’t be leaving the airport?

On return we fligh from Phuket to Beijing with air China. We have 2 nights booked in Beijing so are we ok to just get the free 72 hour transit at Beijing airport?

Any help or advice would be really appreciated.

You didn't say where you arrive in Shenzhen from and where you depart from Beijing to.
But if you fly UK-Shenzhen (3 hours)-Phuket-Beijing-UK with no other stops you don't need a visa in advance and you don't need a transit visa. You will qualify for transit without visa. Don't refer to a "transit visa" because that is something different and it will only cause confusion.

Yes my outward flight to Phuket departs London Heathrow (uk). I fly London to Shenzhen, have approx 3 hours wait until I fly on to Phuket. I will not be leaving Shenzhen airport.

So am I right I don't need anything for this, no visa, no transit visa etc?

On my way home from Phuket I fly Phuket to Beijing, I have booked an hotel for 2 nights to do some sightseeing in Beijing. Then fly Beijing back to London, uk.

Am I right that I can use the transit visa and get this on arrival at Beijing airport?

You don't need a visa but may be forced to go through immigration so they can stamp your passport.

Also you can leave the airport in Beijing if that's your only stop in Mainland China (the answer above is for Shenzhen).
