Q1 chinese visa for minor

I married a chinese citizen. But i have a son and he want my son to go with me in china. Can he get a q1 and residence permit? my son is 3 yrs old. what if he goes to school do we need to change his visa into student X later?

Your son can apply for Q1 type and residence permit in China. You are advised to go to the local PSB if you need to do the change for him studying in China.
