US to Shanghai to PEK to Japan

Hello!

Would we need a visa?
US to PVG(2 hour layover) to PEK(stay 2 days) PEK to NRT to US.

Sorry I meant we are flying

US to PVG(2hour layover) to PEK(staying for 1-2days)

PEK to PVG(3 hours) to Tokyo(remainder of our trip) to US
