About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

London - Beijing - Holland - London

Hi, my boss needs to travel from UK to Tianjin for 1 day (flying into Beijing). He doesn't have time to get a visa. Can he do the following on a transit g? London - Beijing - Amsterdam - London?

He doesn't need a visa for London-Beijing-Amsterdam-London if the London-Beijing flight is non-stop. But he would need a visa for London-Amsterdam-Beijing-Amsterdam-London.
